Another fabulous vacation for Kel's Escape and Flip Flop Vols. Kel's headed down on Thursday and Flip Flop followed on Friday (someone had to work on Thursday). Splashed the boats at Pennekamp and spent the first two nights aboard at the marina. Checked into our rental home on Saturday and had to move the owners sailboat that was taking up dock space. The rental agency had given us the okay to move it to the neighbors dock, but the electric davits were not working. So, as you can see in the first pics we had to wind it down by hand. one and a half hours of grueling work in the hot sun. We got the sailbot moved and were still waiting on someone to 'check us in'. turned out that the cleaning lady that was there in the house 'finishing up' was supposed to be our contact. Would have been nice for her to tell us when she was finished (we were right there hanging out in the pool), and maybe tell us where the house keys were, or how to adjust the thermostat that was set on 55f, or how to connect to the WIFI. No, she just disappeared and left us to our own devices. Not the way to start a vacation. Never did get the thermo adjusted, or conect to the WIFI.
But despite the best efforts of the rental agency to get us down, we had a fantastic week of diving, fishing (not much catching, just a coupe of blackfin and mahi), floating and time with best friends in one of our most favorite places on earth. The photo evidence is below.
