Update 2

Made it to Spanish and had lunch, jumped in the pool, walked to the beach and had an all around good time.  Once complete we continued south and stayed on the North end of Nun Jack Cay, basically “Lincoln Park”.  Great snorkeling, grabbed a few conch and proceeded to crack them open until the head of our hammer decided to go for a swim and to never be found again.  Half the conchs were spared.

Swinging on the hook was great, then got ourselves cleaned up and moved out to the ocean side and did some trolling….. Nothing but a cuda, but still a great day, only problem was we planned to get a quick fresh water rinse and found ourselves in a blazing storm going past Whale Cay.  Not the best place for that.  Regardless made it to Marsh Harbor and saw Jimmy Parrish for some drinks and entertainment.  Next day cleared the docks and worked out to the north end of Guana for some snorkeling and being the first day of lobster season decided to pick up a few bugs…..yummy!  Of course we ended up at Nippers for some frozen concoctions and that got the best of many….Not Masters of course!

Had a great evening hanging on the hook just of Hope Town and Island Marine.  For any boaters looking for a nice spot to sink the hook this is a great one with the light house in the background and you guessed it…… LOBSTER on the barb’e!!!!!

We’re all set to go in and walk Hope Town and then off to Cracker P’s and Tahiti Beach.  Till next time!!!!

Update 3

Well, have to tell you the Lobster on the barb’e were great and for those who have heard they are difficult to find, they’re right if you don’t know where to look.  We’ve found plenty of granddaddy’s and have had great eating.  So, after a stay off Hope Town we went in for a visit, but it was August 1^st, a holiday.  No matter, we hung a Tilloo and hooked up with a few more lobster.

To be honest we found a little spot just East of Tilloo and if we had the money we’d pool it to buy the area…..beautiful and you get to look across to Cracker P’s each day!!!!  The next morning we picked up tanks and moved on to Fowl Cay…..it’s a preserve in Abaco and had a great couple of dives.  Of course my daughter met up with a 20 lb Grouper she’s named Bernie.  We fed him our left over couch and he allowed the animal tamer “April” to pet him, if it was really a him!

Ok, who’s eaten at Cracker P’s???????? The views great, food is even better, and Lola the bartender is tops.  Really her names not Lola, but she nick named me Ralph, so of course in my style she had to be founded.  We’ll since our new dream property was so nice, decided to go back there once again.  Yes, once again on the hook.  If you had no geni if would be bad, but with A/C, lights, etc…. it’s a great stay.

Odd, but the three boats broke up after another dive at Fowl Cay and Kalizma and Kel’s Escape went North around Guana, hooked up with one dolphin, but after two jumps freedom and then into Treasure Cay, which is really nice and relatively inexpensive.  Flip Flop Vols, picked up members of the Jimmy Parish crew and scooted south to P’s Pub……hope they’ve been safe and had a good time.   Till next time!

Update 4

It was time for Kalizma to head home, but of course it had to be with some unexpected activities.  A strong south wind kicked up the sea’s in the Sea of Abaco, which made it like a washing machine coming out of Treasure Cay and then Kalizma had a engine room alarm.  We both got through the sea’s just fine, but the alarm required a call to a mechanic and the advice was to continue on as it was just a sensor gone bad.

So Kalizma moved north to Spanish in preparation for the jump to West End and on to Palm Beach and Kel’s Escape beat against the waves back to Hope Town to meet up with Flip Flop Vol’s.  So much for that great wash job provided by the kids at Treasure Cay Marina…..Salt everywhere, but the decks were clean.

Flip Flop Vol’s and Kel’s met up just outside of Hope Town around 2:00, but who cares the time.  Once together we continued to Pelican Cay and found Jacksonville’s Fort George of the Abaco’s.  What a great place to drop the hook, hang behind the boats, and oh, see the bottom as if there were no water between us and the white sands.  Just a bit clearer than good old Jacksonville water, it’ll be difficult to set the hook in Fort George and not think about this place.  Once the dip was complete we continued on to Linyard Cay where we dropped the hook for the evening.  We were accompanied by a group of six big boys and one mega yacht for the evening.  Again a great place to overnight and then had a day of fishing and snorkeling prior to a visit to Pete’s Pub for their closing activities.  It was a nice outing and saw plenty of people get blasted by Pete’s Blasters.

Back in our home zip code just off Tahiti beach looking back at Cracker P’s for another great sunset and evening in preparation for bed time.  Once up the next morning we ran to Green Turtle for some diving and snorkeling along the reef line.  Nice dive and then went back with snorkel gear and grabbed a couple of bugs and a grouper.  Tasty!!!!! If you’ve never stayed at Green Turtle Club, we all give it a big thumbs up.  Very nice location, beautiful facility and really good services.  We’ll be back here!

Ok, one thing almost forgotten…. Kalizma saga continues…. She left Spanish and wasn’t heard from for a day and a half.  The one item their mechanic said not to bring was exactly what they needed.  Serpentine belt for one of the engines went bad.  The good news is a new belt arrived in West End and Kalizma limped on one engine in for the replacement.  After the correction, Kalizma made it across to Florida with no other issues.
